Catechists are responsible for teaching religious formation, sharing faith, and helping young people learn about the Catholic faith. If you are interested in volunteering, the church encourages you to visit the parish office to learn more about the opportunity and the specific roles available.
Faith formation volunteer is a person who, by virtue of his/her Baptism and Confirmation, is called to serve God’s plan of salvation. Volunteers should be willing to share their faith joyfully with others. Volunteers are needed to help with both faith formation and sacrament preparation.
Could I be a Catechist?
Do you: 1. Love God and want to know Him better? 2. Do you want to instill that love of God in others? 3. Enjoy children and want to be a good role model for them? 4. Want to share your faith and help others grow in their faith? 5. Want to help children develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
If you answered to “yes” to any of these questions, it may mean that God is calling you to be a Catechist!
The Faith Formation Program is always in need of volunteer catechists/co-catechists, classroom aides and substitutes to help spread the Good News and share the Catholic faith with our parish children.
"And this is the job of the catechist: constantly go forth to others out of love to bear witness and to talk about Jesus, to proclaim Jesus. This is important because the Lord does it; it is the Lord that impels us to go forward." ~Pope Francis
