Lectors
Lectors in English and Spanish are needed for all Masses at Our Lady of the Assumption Church/San Felipe Neri Mission.

Lectors assist with the proclamation of the Word of God, announcements and the general intercessions. Ministry leader: Diana Koite
 
Altar Society

Ministers who clean and prepare liturgical vessels, vestments, and linens for the liturgy.; Altar Society ministry leader: Grace Duran

Church Environment 

Ministers who assist the priest reflect a church environment that welcomes and enhances worship. 

Greeters or ushers are needed for each of the Masses. Greeters would have to arrive to church 30 minutes before the Mass begins and welcome churchgoers. It's optional to wear an Our Lady of the Assumption shirt.                                 

They provide hospitality and welcome all worshipers as they arrive to the celebration of the Mass.  May help in various ways throughout the liturgy. Usher ministry Leader: Hector Fuentes

Altar Servers

Assist the presider at the altar and throughout the liturgy.   Open to parishioners males and females after reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation (Penance) and Holy Communion. They must also attend Mass and attend CCE. Contact: Maria Cardenas                               
  
Eucharistic Ministers

Assist the presider and concelebrants and deacons with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. Clarissa Sanchez is the leader of the extra ordinary ministers of the Eucharist and the lectors. She collaborates with leaders of each Mass and be responsible for training, meetings, and schedules. 

Choir

Instrumentalists

Parishioners that can play string, woodwinds, and brass instruments.  They accompany the assembly’s hymns and or perform solo.










 

Communion To the Sick

Special ministers of the Eucharist that visit and bring Communion to the hospitalized and homebound after Mass on Sunday or during the week. Ministry leader: Dr. Chris Garcia

Rosary For Funerals

Ministers in this group lead rosaries at funeral services. Ministry leader: Micky Doñes

Baptism Leaders

Minister to the parents/godparents of children preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism. Ministry leader: Santos Yanes

Marriage Preparation Sponsor Couple

Assist with marriage preparation. Marriage sponsor couples ministry leader: Jason Peters

Counters

Guadalupanas

Ladies organized in honor of the Virgen de Guadalupe dedicated to promoting special recognition and prayer to our Blessed Mother and to the support of the parish in special feasts. Ministry leader: Monse Garcia

   
Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas

Knights of Columbus

A Catholic fraternal service organization that provide social ministries for the parish. Members must be at least 18 years old. If married, members must be married by the Catholic Church. Ministry leader: Michael Carmona

Pro Life & Walking with Moms:
Different events are planned like processions, rosaries, displays, infant collections through out the year.   We include all ministries and organization/clubs to be a part of it.  Contact persons: Esperanza Peters and Janie Martinez


Matachines/Folklorico Dancers

You've seen them dance at the kermes and at the Dia de Guadalupe Mass. You're invited to join them. They meet Thursdays at the parish hall. Children's classes take place at 6 p.m. Classes for adults are at 7 p.m.

You may purchase your own costume. They also have costumes that can be borrowed.

Food Distribution Ministry
